I was massively late to the party on The Unicorns. When I finally discovered them after they broke up, I had a hard time because everyone I knew was either completely over them, or just didn't care. Don't make that latter mistake, check them out.

Happily, they're still making music. Nick Thorburn has been doing all kinds of stuff, including The Islands and Human Highway.

We've heard less from Alden Penner (pictured), but that's probably because we don't live in Montreal, where he's been busy starting bands and online music stores.

With Brendan Reed (ex-Arcade Fire) and several other Montreal musicians, Penner has put together Clues, whose first album is out now, and is awesome.

Oh, and they're touring.
