Andy Stack (drums, keyboards, backup vocals) and Jenn Wasner (vocals, guitars) make up the indie-folk band Wye Oak, named for Maryland's state tree. I really enjoyed their first album (If Children, 2007), which is full of slow building lush & layered harmonies, but gets pleasantly chaotic at times, as you'll hear in the first song below.
I haven't gotten a chance to thoroughly listen to their July 2009 release, The Knot, from which the second song below is taken, but when I do, look for a review here. Oh, and they're touring, currently in Europe with The Dodos, followed by a relentless tour of the US, in many cities we fail to cover currently. See them, I hear Andy Stack playing the drums and keyboard at the same time is a sight to behold.
