A defunct band released their sophomore album this year, a wonderfully idiosyncratic conclusion to an idiosyncratic band. Adopting the media's name for John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo, the DC Snipers were a short-lived coda on 90s punk rock, featuring six-words-or-less-choruses and a loud, sloppy sound.
Their choruses are so big and simple that they're begging, on their hands and knees, for you to sing along. And the thing is, you're going to. I don't even know what they're saying in the chorus to "I Drink Seawater," but I'm singing, goddammit.
I wish I could say you'd see 'em live somewhere, but you won't. You can see various members in Spider Bags and Blank Dogs, and maybe if you're wasted, you can ask them to sing "Suicide Policemen," but they'll probably just ignore you. Or kick you out, you drunk fuck.
