I feel like there are some bands that I have nothing to say about. The songs speak for themselves.
But I suppose I should say something, if only to help you spend your time on this Friday afternoon. Have to do something before you drink, right? So. The Marked Men. They're a hardworking band from Denton with a number of albums under their belts, with the most recent, Ghosts, out earlier this year.
Today, our b-side is the title track from that album, but the a-side is my focus. The song itself is a cover of a band called Sweet JAP (it's okay -- they're Japanese!), and you can find it on a split titled Seven Inches for Your Ex. With a tacky "Romeo and Juliet" chorus, I trust that everyone in the room can sing along unabashedly. You'd blush if you were by yourself, but shame disperses through an ecstatic crowd like cigarette smoke.
