Spirits of the Red City is an eight-person ensemble that creates wistful, melancholy folk tunes using cello, upright bass, accordion, guitar, viola and charming vocals. Many of the band members are siblings, which might explain how well the harmonies weave. I saw them this past Saturday in DC and I was blown away. Check out their album Hunter Moon.
