Casual listeners will enjoy The Heligoats playful blend of folk twang with the staple comforts of indie rock--"Fish Sticks" jumps off the release as a fun and frenetic four minutes of talented riffing and jamming. And most will enjoy Otepka's tireless energy as he fills nearly every vacant second with rambling lyrics and big, hearty choruses. Still, "Fish Sticks" holds up to multiple listens with a lyrical richness that defines this entire release--The Heligoats are deft lyricists and "Fish Sticks" is overstuffed with peppy and energetic visual language.
