I posted about Lover! back in August, with a couple tracks off assorted singles. I also made a claim that an album might be forthcoming from the band, if their European label stopped jerking it in the closet.
Not sure if the European label ever threw their dicks back in their pants, but another label, Big Legal Mess Records, seems to be coherent enough to get a six-song disc out, which you can find here (and sample below). Even more exciting, it seems like Rich Crook will be playing the East Coast on a few upcoming dates.
According to the MySpace, the album with the European label will now be a singles collection, and the songs that were intended for the album are floating in the nether. Hopefully they'll see the light of day sooner rather than later. Maybe now's the time for me to start my label and see if I can get the songs out of him.
As for the new tunes, well, they're a little more "country" than usual, but he's been drifting that way for some time now. Still, "Fell in Love" rocks nicely and I think overall the EP is a solid offering from a guy who releases tons of material year-round.
Lover! - Goodbye
Lover! - Fell in Love
